One of the biggest fashion trends right now is a layering technique, where you wear a pair of tights under your ripped jeans.  We’ve seen Kim Kardashian, Hailey Baldwin, Kylie Jenner and many other fashion forward celebs rocking this look.  With fishnets being the tights of choice, you’re able to make an edgier statement.  The intended look is for the fishnets to not only appear through the rips of your jeans, but to also peak through a few inches off the top of your high-waisted jeans.   

For those of you who have seen my outfit looks on instagram or other social media platforms, you know that I’m a sucker for a good pair of distressed denim.  I even have a pet cheetah that I keep at home to tear up all of my jeans for me so I can wear them extra distressed (obviously kidding).   In all seriousness, repeating the same look over and over again can be a tad boring at times.  The thought of being able to accessorize my jeans with a pair of lace or fishnet stockings was refreshing, to say the least.

With this particular outfit look, I decided to change things up and throw on a pair of fishnets underneath.  Adding this simple accessory gave my outfit a whole new edge, not to mention it helped keep me warm since it was quite windy that day.  For my top I decided to wear a long sleeve grey bodysuit with cutout details, and my brand new All Saints biker jacket that I had just purchased a few days prior.  Some of you may be wondering why I didn’t follow the complete trend with the crop top and fishnets rising above my waist, and that’s simply because I just didn’t like that look on me.  I’m all about embracing new fashion trends, but some of the details on this one just went right over my head.  Finishing up the outfit, I wore my favorite Chanel booties with a matching boy bag cross-body.

The best part of wearing tights under your jeans is that you’re able to give pieces of clothing that you already own a completely new look.  You’re not limited to fishnets — you can make a more feminine statement with lace detail, and you can also wear different colors like nude or white.  I would steer clear from any bright colors or crazy prints like leopard, since you can easily go from stylish to Halloween ready.
